Friday was my final lesson and last day of my field experience with Ms. Hinz. The 9th grade P.E. class was still in their CPR unit, so Ms. Hinz asked me to teach on the found unconscious adult, child, and pediatric. Unfortunately their were only 3 students in the class on Friday because the school's football team had made it to state. Ms. Hinz still had me teach the lesson because the students that were there should have the opportunity to get ahead for choosing to stay at school. Because it was such a small class the students were able to ask more questions throughout the lesson and were given more one on one time. Ms. Hinz and I used real life scenarios that could result in a need to know the skills being taught for this lesson and relate the material to the students on a personal level.

Ms. Hinz and I switched off throughout the lesson as lead and secondary teachers. We used this approach so that while one of us was demonstrating on the manikin, the other could explain and point out the different techniques and the importance of doing each maneuver correctly.

Formative assessment was used after the lesson was finished by going to each of the students stations and going over the steps that they struggled with the most. Having less students in the class then normal made this type of assessment very easy and effective. If the whole class had been there then there would have been more summative assessment because they could test on their skills to earn their stamps.

Class management was fairly simple for this day because there wasn't much the students could do to goof off with only 3 in the class. The one student with an IEP gave a few fits during the practice time and had some behavioral issues that Ms. Hinz took note of and is planning on talking with his special ed adviser about. For the time being this student was left alone to practice.

Overall I think the last lesson went well. I gave the students that were there my evaluation forms and they were fairly positive results as far as what I wanted the students to learn for the day.
